About

Hi — I'm Mike. I'm a software engineer and I play piano for fun. I built GlyphScore because I couldn't find a single free tool that did everything I wanted in one place: open a file, play it, adjust it, print it — Guitar Pro and MusicXML, with real per-track playback, a mixer, tempo and looping, and both notation and tablature, right in the browser.

So I made it, and it's free. No account, no setup, no catch — open a file and you're going in seconds. Your scores stay on your device; nothing is ever uploaded.

If GlyphScore is useful to you, you can buy me a coffee — completely optional, and it helps keep the project going. Either way, I hope it helps you make music.

— Mike

Good to know

What is GlyphScore?
GlyphScore is a free, browser-only viewer and player for Guitar Pro and MusicXML scores. Open a file and you get notation and tablature, real per-track playback, a mixer, tempo control, and A–B looping — no backend, no account, no install.
Which file formats does it support?
Guitar Pro 3 through 8 (.gp3–.gp5, .gpx, .gp) and MusicXML (.musicxml, .xml, .mxl).
Is it really free?
Yes — completely free, with no account and no sign-up. If it's useful to you, you can buy me a coffee, but that's entirely optional.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing, rendering with AlphaTab, and audio playback all happen in your browser. Your files never leave your device — there's no server to send them to.

Built on these open projects

GlyphScore wouldn't exist without them.
